Rules For Selling Car Online

The rules for selling car online will help prevent spam

Rule #1. Do not display your email or phone number in your online ad.

The ad will have a contact link that will allow the interested party to contact you.

Do not use websites that reveal your email address and do not include your email in the ad description.

A good classified ad website will provide a way for someone to contact you through their website.

Some people look through these "selling car online" websites to get emails so they can spam people.

Rule #2. Do not use classified ad websites that sell your email to list providers.

I will not list any websites that do this.

If the websites that I provide for you, start selling your emails, please let me know so I can take them off my site.

These list providers sell targeted emails to companies or people with online businesses. They know how to target your email by the category of your ads.

This is why I recommend getting a free email account just for placing your ads online.

Most websites that are used for selling car online, will tell you about this in their privacy policy. If they do not state this in their privacy policy, find their contact link and inquire about this in an email.

You can get a free email account at: Yahoo, MSN, or Juno.

Get a name easy to remember and use the same user-name and password for all your advertising sites.

This will make things easier and quicker when using several classified ad websites.

Rule #3. Place your ad in the correct category.

Always place your ad in the correct category. When you are looking in the motorcycle section, you don’t want to see cars or bicycles displayed with motorcycles.

When people are browsing the ads, they want to see only items that they are looking for. You can browse the ads, in the website, to be sure that only cars are displayed in the automobile section and so on.

I do my best, to provide only websites that keep ads in the proper category, at www.how-to-sell-used-car-com.

Rule #4. Use websites that separate ads to each state or a particular area.

A good classified ad website, will post ads in their own state or local area. This makes it easy for someone, to find what they are looking for, in their area.

However, if the classified ads website doesn't comply with rule #4 but it complies with the first three rules it is still a good advertising medium.

I will update the rules as needed, so you will have the best information on the web for selling car online.
