Fuel Efficient Automobiles Sell Faster

With gas prices soaring, fuel efficient automobiles are becoming the choice of most people around the world. This new trend is making smaller, economic cars more popular and in turn drives up the price of small cars. With the demand for fuel efficient automobiles growing, it makes selling these cars easy, provided you don't overprice them. A smaller fuel efficient car will give you a better return on your money. While the demand for gas saving cars is rising, it is driving up the price of these cars. Honda and Toyota are leading the world in light, compact, powerful engines. They are constantly testing and improving their engines to reduce co2 emissions by increasing the fuel efficiency of its cars. (By the way, Honda and Toyota have the best resale value of all economic cars. Why? Because they are dependable, low maintenance, and have proven to stand the test of time.) I must add that US automakers are doing the same thing. However, it is a much harder task to get fuel efficiency and comfort to go hand in hand. As an American, it is hard to reduce the size of a family car down to a compact car. In some cases this is nearly impossible, because of having 5 or more in a family. Compact and comfort does not go together. This is another thing that is making it hard for people to adjust to. I’m not saying that all compact cars are uncomfortable because many are comfortable, but when you are a large person and you feel like you are stuffed inside of a go-cart, it is uncomfortable. This is the challenge that the American auto makers are faced with and it is not an easy task. Think about it. Build a large fuel efficient automobile that gets 30 mpg or more with plenty of room for a family of 5 or 6 to travel in comfort. American auto makers are making progress and I believe in the future, it will be possible to have a large comfortable automobile that gets great gas mileage. Until then, we will have to drive a compact car back and forth to work and use the gas guzzler only for family vacations or long trips. Here are 2 reasons. 1. High Gas Prices The average wage earner is looking for a small car that gets great gas mileage. This will help offset the higher cost of gas prices. 2. Compact Cars are Less Expensive Used compact cars are less expensive than larger more luxurious cars. Many people will search for a smaller car that is used. If money is tight the average person will be looking for a used compact car that is within their price range.
